<p>The Flames netted four goals in the first two periods of Tuesday&#8217;s contest against the Nashville Predators, finally putting an end to a grim stretch in which they failed to score more than three times in 25 consecutive games — the longest such streak in franchise history.</p>
<p>Jonathan Huberdeau finally lifted the curse with a power-play goal at the 18:41 mark of the middle frame at Bridgestone Arena, shoveling a rebound in the crease past Predators goaltender Juuse Saros to give the Flames a 4-3 lead. Matt Coronato and Connor Zary recorded the assists on Huberdeau&#8217;s team-leading 10th goal of the 2024-25 campaign.</p>

<p>Huberdeau is currently riding a five-game point streak, including three goals over that span, and leads the Flames with 19 points in 29 contests this season. The 31-year-old forward is currently in the second season of the eight-year, $10.5 million AAV contract he signed with the Flames back in 2022.</p>

<p>Despite their general offensive woes throughout the season, the Flames still rank 15th in the National Hockey League with a 13-10-5 record and 31 points in 28 games. Entering Tuesday&#8217;s action, they had only scored 74 goals, enough for 27th in the league &#8230; but still way ahead of the last-place Predators, who managed just 61 goals through their first 28 games of the 2024-25 season.</p>
