One prospect who could be available is Eddie Genborg, an 18-year-old Swedish winger.

Like Rasmus Dahlin, Genborg was born in Trollhättan, Sweden. He stands at 6’1”, 179 lbs, mainly playing his last two seasons in Sweden’s junior league, although he made his professional debut this season. One thing is clear about Genborg when reading his scouting report &#8211; there’s a good chance he’ll be a National Hockey League player despite being drafted in the second or third round.
Steven Ellis of <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/2025-nhl-draft-rankings-schaefer-misa-hagens-top-75-before-u-18-world-championship">Daily Faceoff</a> ranked Genborg as his 74th-best draft prospect, which would firmly put him in the third round. Here’s what he had to say about the forward:

He does a lot away from the puck, which is something I value quite a lot. Genborg is absolutely relentless, plays a reliable two-way game and didn’t look out of place in the SHL. I have full belief he’ll become an NHLer one day in a bottom-line role because he can be a menace without getting himself in too much trouble.”</blockquote>
In Whittaker Heart’s post-U-18 championship write-up for<a href="https://dobberprospects.com/2025/05/02/takeaways-from-the-preliminary-round-at-the-2025-u18-world-championships/"> Dobber Prospects</a>, he echoed similar sentiments to Ellis:
<blockquote>“Genborg is a straight line, physical monster who has shown a great ability to complement two offensively minded players. He finishes hits, gets the puck to more skilled players, and goes to the net. It’s a simple game, one some NHL teams might not be overly enticed by, but I strongly believe he will eventually play in the NHL.”</blockquote>
<a href="https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/scouts-analysis-ranking-the-top-64-prospects-for-the-2025-nhl-draft/">Sportsnet’s</a> Jason Bukala ranked Genborg as his 44th-best draft prospect, having this to say about the 18-year-old:

Genborg played his youth hockey with various teams before joining Linköping HC’s under-20 team in 2023-24, scoring four goals and five points in 25 games. He had a much better 2024-25 season, scoring 19 goals and 34 points in 28 games, along with a goal and three points in three post-season games.
The 18-year-old also made his professional debut this past season with Linköping HC, scoring two goals in 28 games, while being a -1. In the recent U-18 tournament, Genborg finished with three assists as Sweden lost to Team Canada in the Gold Medal game.
<h2>Availability and fit</h2>
As you look at prospects later in the draft, prospect rankings vary depending on the pundits. His highest is by TSN’s Craig Button, who ranked him 35th, one spot higher than Dobber Prospects&#8217; ranking. The Hockey News’ Tony Ferrari ranked him 39th, but his consolidated ranking according to Elite Prospects is 50th overall. Daily Faceoff’s 74th ranking is one of the lowest.
With that said, Genborg will certainly be available for the Flames at certain points. It seems unlikely that they’ll use their two first-round picks or even their second on Genborg, but the Flames also pick 80th overall, a spot where they may be able to snag Genborg.
As for fit, he’s a winger, which the Flames don’t really need, but scouts seem to think he could be an NHL player one day, and you can’t go wrong with a pick like that.
